Summary
'St Agnes' tapestry, designed by Edward Burne-Jones (the figure) and Henry Dearle (the foliage), and made by Morris & Co. Based on a design originally produced for stained glass (at St. Helen's, Welton, East Yorkshire), and first woven in 1887, with a matching St Cecilia, for Sir Thomas Wardle, the Staffordshire fabric dyer and printer who had produced many of Morris' early textiles. It was exhibited at the Manchester Jubilee Exhibition 1887. Wooden frame.
