Summary
One of a pair of single brass bedsteads including mattresses, late 19th century, supplied by Heal's. The head and foot sections of each bed are made of tubular brass, each section following an identical pattern of two bedposts with ball finials which support three horizontal and seven vertical stays. The beds are on castors. Each has a spring mattress on a base made of spaced metal strips. Owned by the Beale family (owners of Standen) - original to the house.
