Summary
An 8 day French striking metal clock designed by Lewis F. Day, and made by J.W. Benson. Arts and Crafts style, c.1880. Bronze case with blue and white tiling. 2 train, 4 pillar pendule de Paris movement with Brocet escapement, Brocet pendulum suspensia and rack. Half-hour striking on gong. Circular white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, signed in plain dial centre by J.W. Benson. Blued steel decorated arrow hands. The case is a solid paternated bronze rectangular case, with blue and white porcelain panels set in above and below the dial, with openwork gallery above and below. The dial is covered with a flat bevelled glass in a hiryed(?) brass bezel. The rear is covered with a frosted glass in a hiryed brass bezel.
