Summary
A figured walnut, crossbanded and line-inlaid chest on stand, English, the chest circa 1730, the stand circa 1890. The top inlaid with central lobed design and corner quadrants, matched on the sides, the drawer fronts with semi-circular lines either side of the handles, all the inlays in sycamore or holly, the chest with two short and three long drawers, the stand with one long drawer (the original) raised on later turned and bulbous tapering legs joined by curved stretchers and standing on bun feet, the brass handles and escutcheons are replacements.

Purchased by Mrs Beale from W. Stoney, Cabinet-maker, Upholsterer and Dealer in antique furniture, 28 The Parade and 17 Regent Street West, Leamington Spa on Lady Day 1894 for £8-0-0. Invoice held at WSRO MS 283.
