Summary
A set of bed hangings. A bed tester pelmet in three sections. Rose-red, gilt and green flowered silk, stiffened, lined and finished with an eyeglass fringe/braid. Late 18th/early 19th Century. A pair of bed curtains. Rose-red silk, with cream and green, in a floral pattern. Braided on one edge. Fully lined in red cotton, interlined. Metal hooks. The silk is faded and considerably torn. Provenance
Part of the Bedingfeld Collection. The house was given to the National Trust in 1952 by Sybil, Lady Bedingfeld (1883-1985), her daughter Mrs Greathead, and her niece Violet Hartcup.
