Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Queen Caroline (of Brandenburg Ansbach) (1683–1737) as Princess of Wales after Sir Godfrey Kneller (Lübeck 1646/9 - London 1723). Full-length portrait of a woman, turned slightly to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing regal robes, in a classical interior, her right hand resting on a crown. Red bodice, sleeves and cloak trimmed with ermine. Full skirt with gold and silver design, window on the left through which can be seen distant trees in a landscape with cloudy sky.
