Summary
A mahogany and upholstered wheel chair, English, circa 1790 The shaped top rail and padded back with padded shaped arms and a drop in seat above a shaped apron and raised on square section legs and large brass castors. The legs with iron frames attached to support carrying bars Used by Sir Richard Bedingfeld, 4th Bart.
Provenance
Owned in his old age by Sir Richard Bedingfeld, 4th Bart. Passed by descent to Sir Henry, 8th Bart. Part of the Bedingfeld Collection. The house was given to the National Trust in 1952 by Sybil, Lady Bedingfeld (1883-1985), her daughter Mrs Greathead, and her niece Violet Hartcup.
