Summary
A carved walnut and cane high-back chair, English, circa 1705. The back with a cane panel flanked by pierced foliate detail and outer baluster column posts with cherub mask finials, the crest unusually carved with a Pelican in her Piety, the cane seat on scroll legs joined by multiple stretchers and with a conforming carved front stretcher; the rear seat rail stamped EC, also bearing ivorine label Charles Angell Antiques 34 MILSOM STREET, BATH, seat reframed in pine.
