Summary
A richly carved walnut three-drawer commode or 'cassettone', North Italian, circa 1650. The top with egg and dart border, the original iron handles with shell detail, the drawers flanked by trailing caryatids and with husk carving between, the apron boldly carved with fruiting husks and standing on scroll feet.
