Summary
An oak chair-table, English, circa 1630. The hinged octagonal top folding down for use as a table resting on baluster supports, the underside carved with leafy branches and flower heads issuing from a vase, the plank seat with foliate lunette carved friezes and standing on conforming baluster legs joined by square stretchers, hand-written paper label to underside of seat 'L.Messel' .
