Caption
A romantic Tudor mansion in Victorian times was not complete without stained glass. Richard Watt’s collection of 55 stained glass panels would have been obtained largely from dealers who imported from Europe and were able supply some very attractive pieces such as this late 16th-century Flemish roundel of Adam and Eve.
Summary
Stained glass roundel illustrating Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden at the moment of temptation, the serpent entwined around central tree. The kneeling figure of Archangel Jophiel with a sword in the background. Details picked out in yellow.
