Summary
A mahogany and inlaid fold-over demi-lune card or games table, English, circa 1770. The demi-lune top banded in satinwood and inlaid with holly and ebony lines, lined to the interior with later dun-coloured baize. The frieze with holly lines and each leg headed by a satinwood patera. The legs tapering and square-section and terminating in tapering and moulded block feet. Hinges of brass; carcase of softwood and oak.
Provenance
Date of introduction to Greenway not recorded, but given to the National Trust by Mrs Rosalind Hicks (d. 2004), Anthony Hicks (d. 2005) and Mathew Prichard in 2006, and accepted in 2007.
