Summary
19th century clock, the case in the shape of a pointed Gothic arch. Blind lancets to the sides filled with brass tracery. On four brass ball feet. Mahogany with ivory decoration. Typical two train, eight day duration spring clock with a fusee driven movement by Thwaites, numbered 3939 which dates this movement to 1807. Mahogany-veneered, lancet-topped case with ebonised decoration fielded panels and brass pierced frets to the sides. Signed on the (re)painted convex iron dial, 'Mitchell & Russell' [taken from a clock conservation report by Matthew Read, 2006].
