Summary
Rosewater dish, silver gilt, with fluted centre and chased border engraved 'The Gift of Queen Charlotte to the Duke of York, 1804', bearing hall marks for London 1766, by Thomas Whipham and Charles Wright, (probably refashioned in 1804). Engraved 'Purchased at the sale of His Late Royal Highnesses Plate, March 1827'.
Provenance
A gift from Queen Charlotte to the Duke of York 1804, purchased from the sale of her plate in March 1827. Purchased by the National Trust from John George Herbert, 8th Earl of Powis and the Powis Estate Trustees in June 2010.
