Summary
Carrara marble sculpture, Emperor Nero, Emperor of Rome (37-68 AD). A portrait bust of Nero. One of a set of stone busts of the twelve Caesars with inset Carrara marble heads and applied scagliola drapery.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership in 1992. Brought to Powis Castle from the London House of the Herbert Family in Lincon's Inn Fields in 1704.
