Summary
Sundial; Horizontal brass dial, engraved with Clive coat of arms. Made by John Bennett of Crown Court, Soho, London, (d.1770). Dial mounted in a compound column having square core with three-quarter round columns to each face. Astragal at half column height. Abacus of stone. Listed building - Grade II - 'Sundial in Fountain Garden at Powis Castle' (16796)
Provenance
Amongst the sculpture and fixtures within the grounds of Powis Castle and Gardens and part of the original bequest of the property in 1952. Originally belonged to the Clive family.
