Summary
Small rectangular tortoiseshell and ivory box with silver catch and rectangular inset to centre of lid. The ivory side panels are decorated with foliate design in gilt. The box has round, turned ivory, feet. The body of the box is lined with silvered paper with black polka dot pattern, the lid with blue silk. In William and Mary marquetry box (1180824).
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
