Summary
Badge - The breast star of the Order of the Bath, originally attributed to Robert, Lord Clive. This is Military Star of the Order of the Bath decorated with enamel decoration of three crowns surrounded by motto, TRIA JUNCIA IN UNO, within a green wreath. Motto below on blue enamel ribbon ICH DIEN. The back of badge is engraved 'R & S Garrard & Co, Goldsmith & Jewellers to the Crown, 25 Haymarket London' in gothic script. (Badge fits medal case 1184780 alongside Order of Bath Medal 1180890. Case by R & S Garand and Co.)
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax, placed on long term loan to the National Trust, then gifted to National Trust on 26th March 1991.
