Summary
A marquetry inlaid ebonised fruitwood and walnut brass mounted commode with an associated mother of pearl and ivory inlaid brass mounted top, French, part circa 1700. The oversized top with a gilt brass applied edge above two short and three long drawers and raised on bracket feet. The whole inlaid with floral scrolling designs and grotesque masks.

Purchased by the National Trust with funding from The National Heritage Memorial Fund from John George Herbert, 8th Earl of Powis and Powis Estate Trustees in August 1999.
