Summary
A walnut, beech and cane high back open armchair, English, circa 1710. The arched back with moulded frame and large cane panel above a cane seat with down swept scrolled arms held by bulb turned supports and front legs tied by a twist turned baluster stretcher and raised on square cut scrolled 'Spanish' feet, the rear legs splayed and joined by further stretchers. Provenance
Part of the indigenous collection of Powis Castle. Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
