Summary
Huqqa pipe - Part of a collection of huqqa snakes and pipes. A huqqa pipe, the bamboo stems decorated with bands of woven black silk thread, silver and silver gilt foil thread, the gilt foil forming a raised diamond pattern; the bung covered in black silk and bound with black silk thread. Mughal style, mid 18th century. See 'Treasures from India' catalogue pg.105.

Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
