Summary
Huqqa pipe and snake - Part of a collection of huqqa snakes and pipes. A huqqa snake and pipe ensuite (11.1a/b); the snake covered with black silk and with gilt threads and gilt foil strips forming a chevron pattern, the pipe with similar decoration. Displayed with SCH.POW.CLIVE.S.4. Mughal style mid 18th century. See 'Treasures from India' catalogue pg.105.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
