Summary
Clip - One of a pair of 18th century Mughal clips or mounts; each comprising two shaped silver plates chased on their outer faced to represent iris flowers. The plates are soldered to each end of a slightly thicker strip of silver, whcich is bent in the centre as though to form tongs. Their intended function is not know but the presence of two corresponding holes on each side suggests that they were rivetted or otherwise fixed to an object of approximately 2.5cm thickness that was sandwiched within.
