Summary
Boxes from a twelve-piece gaming set. Wood covered in black lacquer and decorated with an overall zig-zag pattern of floral bands in gold and red lacquer, partly in relief; the centre of the box decorated with a baron's coronet. Set comprises of one large, five smaller boxes, and six stacking trays. Chinese, c.1750-70.

Purchased by the National Trust with funding from The National Heritage Memorial Fund from John George Herbert, 8th Earl of Powis and Powis Estate Trustees in August 1999.
