Summary
Covered bowl - Dark green nephrite jade oval bowl with domed cover; carved in low relief with lotus and acanthus arabesques. Some of the leaves and stems on the lid are inlaid with gold wire set with small rubies and emeralds (now partly missing) to form a central medallion within a diamond. The base formed by lotus rosette in low relief. Mughal, mid 18th century.
Provenance
Brought to Powis Castle from Walcot Hall in 1930. Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963
