Summary
Light green, nephrite jade shallow, circular bowl, with lobed sides flared slightly at the rim. On a round, carved wooden stand. Mughal, mid 18th century. See 'Treasures from India' catalogue pg.121/no.171.
Provenance
Collected by Robert Clive (1725-1774). The 'scolloped' piece with no handle mentioned in 1775 inventory. Brought to Powis Castle from Walcot Hall in 1930. Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
