Summary
Light green, nephrite jade bowl with flared rim and tow handles formed by lotus buds between acanthus leaves; the base formed by a multi-petalled lotus surrounded by serrated leaves in low relief. Mughal, mid 18th century. See catalogue pg.121 / no.170.
Provenance
Probably collected by Robert Clive (1725-1774). Possibly one of the 'Three Basons with two handles... of Agate' listed in 1775 inventory. Brought to Powis Castle from Walcot Hall in 1930. Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
