Summary
Ceremonial staff (chubb), the shaft is ivory with turned and carved banding, broadening and becoming decagonal at the top, where it curved; the tiger's head of chased, engraved cast silver; the interior of the open mouth painted red. S. or E.India, late 18th century.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
