Summary
Bronze sculpture, The Hindu God Vishnu, Indian School, circa 1800. One of eleven miniature images of the Hindu deities; a small bronze figure of the god Vishnu, standing with the flaming discus in his upper right hand and the conch in his upper left, the lower left resting on the top of his hip (as in BR.1), and his lower right hand in the gift bestowing gesture.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
