Summary
Bronze sculpture, The Hindu God Lakshminarayana - Vishnu seated with his consort Lakshmi on his lap, Indian School, circa 1800. One of eleven miniature images of the Hindu deities; a small bronze figure of the god Lakshminarayana, (Vishnu seated), four-armed and showing the gesture of reassurance, with his consort Lakshmi on his lap holding a lotus bud. Vishnu's vehicle, the eagle Garuda, kneels at the foot of the lotus seat.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
