Summary
A sword, the broad steel blade with chiselled and stamped marks; the steel hilt overlaid with silver floral motifs, domed quillons, spurred quillon block, disc pommel and slender knuckle-guard ending in a pendant lotus bud. The hilt, with its thick, spreading overlaid decoration, rosette on the spur of the quillon block, and knuckle-guard terminating in a lotus-bud and broadening out towards the quillon. Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
