Summary
A sword, an 'ayda katti', with broad steel blade and square stepped gilt ferrule; the T-shaped wooden hilt carved, the wooden pommel broken at one side. Cord tied round the top of the hilt. Southern India, 18th or early 19th century.
Provenance
Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
