Summary
Soup plate, one of 18 soup plates, from a large dinner service - Bishop & Stonier (Bisto). The whole service is part Copeland (supplied by T.Goode and Co) part Bishop & Stonier (Bisto), England (supplied by Mortlocks Ltd, Orchard St. London). All have a border of black, linear, greek key design on gilt ground. The plates are in varying states, ranging from complete and in good condition to broken, crazed, stained, cracked and even broken into several pieces in some cases.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust with funding from The National Heritage Memorial Fund from John George Herbert, 8th Earl of Powis and Powis Estate Trustees in August 1999.
