Summary
Vase - One of a pair of black (coal) vases or wine jugs of oenochoe shape with trefoil shaped necks, both damaged.
Provenance
Both vases were listed as LOT 548 in the Walcot Sale Catalogue, 1929. Described as 'Two black vases (9" high), loop handles, Greek work from Italy, about 300 BC'. Accepted by HM Treasury on 21st March, 1963 in lieu of tax and conveyed to National Trust ownership on 29th November 1963.
