Oil painting on canvas, Madonna Reading and Christ Child by Frances Mostyn Owen, Mrs Myddelton Biddulph (Woodhouse 1807 - Chirk 1887), wife of Col Robert Myddelton Biddulph, 1844. A copy of Madonna reading and Christ Child said to be by Federico Barocci (1562-1612), circa 1600 when it was in the collection of T.B.Bulkeley-Owen, Tedsmore Hall, Shropshire.
Provenance
Amongst chattels previously on loan to the National Trust from the Myddelton family. These chattels were purchased on behalf of the National Trust in the Christie's auction at Chirk on 21st June 2004.
