Oil painting on canvas, Lt-Gen. Sir Thomas Myddelton-Biddulph, KCB (1809 - 1878) (Baron Henrich von Angeli) by Robert Antoine Muller (fl. 1872 - 1881) after the original by Baron Henrich von Angeli (Sopron, Oldenburg, Hungary 1840 – Vienna 1925) in the Royal Collection, signed in black, top left: Robert A. Muller / after / H. von Angeli / 1878. An almost half-length portrait, three-quarters to left, gazing at spectator, receding hair, moustache, long sideburns, wearing evening dress with high-necked dress shirt white bow-tie with large knot, beneath which is suspended on a red band, the badge, and on the left breast of his coat, the star and jewel of the Order of the Bath. Keeper of Privy Purse to Queen Victoria; younger brother. of Col. Robert Myddelton Biddulph, 1805-1872 2nd son of Charlotte, daughter of Richard Myddelton and Elizabeth Rushout and wife of Robert Biddulph. Married Frederica, daughter of Frederick Charles.

With some of the contents, in 1978, that were acquired along with Chirk Castle from Lt-Col Ririd Myddelton (1902–1988) by the National Land Fund and handed, on loan for 99 years, to the Secretary of State for Wales (In 1981 Chirk was transferred into the ownership of the National Trust); purchased 1994
