Summary
Furniture. Hall chair. One of a set of four George III mahogany hall chairs, circa 1775, attributed to Mayhew and Ince. It has an oval and fan fluted back and centred with roundel with a later painted armorial of the Myddelton Biddulph crest, circa 1801. The chair has dished solid seats above a fluted frieze, on square tapering fluted legs.
Provenance
Previously on loan from the Myddelton family. Sold in 2004 as part of the Christies Sale. Purchased by the National Trust in 2005 with help from The Royal Oak Foundation.
