Summary
Pastel on paper, Elizabeth Rushout, later Mrs Richard Myddelton (c.1730-1772), circle of Francis Cotes RA (1726-1770). A half-length portrait, in a blue and green dress and pearly necklace holding flowers, other flowers in her hair. In a George II carved and pierced giltwood frame carved with acanthus leaves and lambrequins.
Provenance
Amongst chattels previously on loan to the National Trust from the Myddelton family. These chattels were purchased on behalf of the National Trust in the Christie's auction at Chirk on 21st June 2004.
