Bottle vase, large, tin-glazed earthenware; of octagonal section, knopped neck (flaring rim reduced in size), painted with birds among flowers in cobalt blue; blue mark on base 'SVE' over '45'; Netherlands, Delft, 'De Grieksche A' (The Greek A) factory, proprietor Samuel van Eenhoorn, c. 1678-86. Originally part of a three-piece garniture for a cupboard.
