Summary
A gold- and white-painted side table, one of a pair, Italian, late 18th century, the rectangular Sienna marble top (possibly associated) with modern protective glass cover, above a panelled frieze decorated with floral paterae, swags, beading and rope twists, on four shaped, fluted and tapering legs, the feet decorated with carved foliate leaves.
Provenance
Property of Mr. H. S. Goodhart-Rendel (1887-1959) who gave Hatchlands Park to the National Trust in 1945. Following Mr. Goodhart-Rendel's death the tables were Accepted in Lieu and transferred by the Treasury to the National Trust in 1962. Listed in the Hatchlands Park 1965 inventory.
