Summary
A mahogany chair, one of a pair, English, late 18th century, in the manner of Hepplewhite, the curved and incised top rail above a pierced back splat formed of carved husks, leaves, and urn-forms, with shaped and incised uprights and lower curved back rail, the fluted tapering front legs with spade feet, joined to the rear square-section legs with a H-stretcher, the seat upholstered in very worn green velvet, horsehair stuffed.

Bequeathed to the National Trust in 1988.
