Summary
A walnut and burr walnut armchair, English, early 18th century, the shaped top rail carved with foliate and fan motifs, above a shaped back splat, flanked by curved uprights and shaped 'shepherd's crook' armrests, the plain seat rail on foliate carved cabriole front legs terminating in claw and ball feet, the rear legs of plainer form (re-toed), the needlework (modern) upholstered drop-in seat with flowers and leaves on a brown ground.

Bequeathed to the National Trust in 1988.
