Summary
Tassels. One of three red wool and silk tassel, comprising, from the top, a wooden button wrapped in crimson silk & over-twisted cord sewn to red silk gimp rosette, backed by card and silk three-strand twisted crimson wool cord. The tassel head is of four sections of twined wood, wrapped in crimson floss silk with over-twisted & interlaced crimson cords & metal loops wrapped in crimson silk.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
