Summary
Coins. Five British George III four pence silver coins. The obverse shows the young head of George III, facing right, draped and wearing a laurel wreath, surrounded by an inscription GEORGIVS.III.DEI.CRATIA. The reverse shows the number 4 under a crown surrounded by an inscription MAG.BRI.FR.ET.HIB.REX.1766.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
