Summary
Coin. A British Rochdale halfpenny copper coin. The obverse shows an inscription ROCHDALE curving above a hanging fleece, 1791 below. The reverse shows the inscription HALFPENNY curved above men working at a loom. Around the edge is the inscription PAYABLE AT THE WORKHOUSE OF JOHN KERSHAW.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
