Summary
Coin. A British King George III copper farthing coin. The obverse shows the head of the King with a laurel wreath facing to the right with an inscription GEORGIVS to the left and III REX on the right hand side. The reverse shows a seated Britannia facing left at the centre with a beaded border encircling BRITAIN to the left and NIA to the right. The date 1774 is at the bottom.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
