Summary
Coin. A British John Wilkinson copper half penny token. On the obverse is an image of the head of John Wilkinson facing right and surrounded by the words JOHN WILKINSON IRON MASTER. On the reverse is an image of an ironworker putting a piece of metal under an automatic hammer with a background of a brick blast furnace, above the date 1793. Around the edge is impressed WILLEY SNEDSHILL BERSHAM BRADLEY.
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
