Summary
Hatbox. A top hat box dated late 19th century. Fabric of brown leather; metal buckles and locks. Lined with red leather, red cotton, twill weave, padding and pink/red cotton, plain weave. Labels 'A.J. White Hatter 74 Jermyn Street London SW' and 'R.T.A.H.'.
Provenance
Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
