Summary
Military Jacket. A khaki worsted, twill weave military jacket dated 1925 (circa). It is trimmed with two epaulettes, four patch pockets, one pocket at the waist; one coathanger, two metal 'T' badges, one metal badge marked 'TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO', two buttons and two belt hooks. It is lined with a dark gold cotton satin weave and a buff cotton twill weave and is hand and machine sewn. It has an embroidered label with the words ' John Smith and Son, Chester Ltd. 14, Eastgate Row, Chester' and a handwritten label 'S. Yorke Esq.'
Provenance
Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
