Summary
Ring. One of 14 mourning rings - (i) a chain, with an oval silver fob inscribed 'Philip Yorke/ Erddig Park/ Wrexham' with (ii-xv) fourteen mourning rings threaded through it. The rings inscribed with the names and dates of deaths of members of the family. c.1770. See S/237. Rings (ii) Revd Brownlow Yorke; (iii) Lord Brownlow; (iv) with oval cartouche decorated a garlanded urn; (v) Earl of Hardwick; (vi) Philip Yorke Esq; (vii) Wtn Wms Wynn; (viii) Philip Yorke Esq; (ix) inscribed 'Bogota'; (x) ring with gem, the inscribed on fragmented scrolls 'Barb. Hutton; (xi) Matthew Hutton; (xii) Philip Earl of Hardwick; (xiii) Rt. Hon C. Yorke; (xiv) Peregrine Cust; (xv) ------ Yorke (inscription rubbed).

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973
